Having secured statutory public inquiries in the UK and Scotland, we are now seeking to secure devolved inquiries in Wales and Northern Ireland. We are campaigning to ensure that lived experience is at the heart of the inquiries, and that the lessons learned from the inquiries result in changes in public policy.

We provide an effective voice for bereaved families. We are a central part of public discourse around the pandemic and    are shaping the way it is handled through media appearances, engagement with policymakers and partnership working.

We seek to ensure that bereaved families are adequately supported through investment in appropriate and effective bereavement support. We are fighting for families to be at the heart of efforts to memorialise and remember the pandemic, including through the maintenance of the National Covid Memorial Wall, which we bought into being.

We will be updating this page periodically.  If you would like to add your organisation’s support please get in touch at hello@covidfamiliesforjustice.org.

Every single UK citizen deserves to understand how and why those in charge of our public institutions were unable to prevent so many deaths and such widespread heartbreak.

We welcome the announcement of a Statutory Inquiry, but it can’t wait until Spring 2022.

Important lessons are better learnt now, while recollections are fresh and evidence hard to hide.

Sign up for legal representation in the upcoming public inquiry

Our campaign is represented by Broudie Jackson Canter solicitors. They have helped us to bring about an inquiry, and will be representing Covid 19 Bereaved Families for Justice in the Inquiry.

It is really important that our members sign up to be represented by Broudie Jackson Canter individually. That is because the more individuals Broudie Jackson Canter are able to represent, the stronger our case in the inquiry will be.

Broudie Jackson Canter are representing people who lost loved ones for free.

All funds we raise will support our ongoing campaign to secure a befitting legacy for each and every 195,962 of our lost loved ones.

This isn’t about party politics. It's about learning lessons to save lives.

Nobody is above the law.

Every single person we have lost to Covid 19 deserves to have their story heard, their brutal suffering and untimely death acknowledged.

The UK society we believe in would never allow the unnecessary loss of human life to be brushed under the carpet.

Only Facts, Truth and Justice can restore public confidence in those who should have done all they could to keep us safe.

Only facts, truth and justice will ensure that a crisis like this can never happen again.

Your donation will bring us closer to a fair inquiry, which will be completely free of political bias, and will include the following features:

  • A rapid review stage to make sure that changes can be made ahead of any further waves.
  • A guarantee that bereaved families will be involved in the selection of an appropriate Chair. The Chair must be trustworthy, politically impartial and appropriately representative of ethnic and socio-economic diversity.
  • A guarantee that the personal witness statements of bereaved family members will be heard as evidence.
