I lost my beloved mother to Covid early on in the pandemic. It was a time of confusion and lack of knowledge about the illness itself, a feeling that public health systems were totally unprepared, and that those who should have been protecting us, were failing us. In becoming a non-executive director for CBFJ I wanted to do my part to support the organisation’s aims.
My professional background is as a UK qualified Chartered Accountant, and over the years my roles expanded from Finance to cover Human Resources, Fundraising, Governance and Compliance, mainly in not-for-profits. Based in Brussels, I have also worked on EU advocacy and policy activities for an association and a foundation, expanding my experience of communications and advocacy in the non-profit world.
I do this in honour of my Mum. We want justice. Lessons must be learned.
